How to Listen and Give What Your Body Needs
Your body has needs and wants just like the rest of you. It’s time to start listening and giving your body what it needs. I’m not talking about food or water, but rather emotional support, physical activity, sleep and more. Experts will teach you how to get in tune with your body so that you can give it what it needs and with patient ID card you will have better access to this info!
The first thing you need to do is learn how to listen to your body. This can be done in a few ways:
-Observe what your body tells you. Are you tired? Stressed? Hungry? Anxious? Pay attention to the signals your body sends you and act accordingly.
-Talk to your body. Yes, really talk to it! Thank it for all that it does for you, ask it questions about how it’s feeling and what it needs. Be open and understanding with your body and treat it like another part of yourself that deserves love and respect.
-Listen to other people’s bodies too! Not just your own! When you’re around friends or family, pay close attention to their physical cues – are they tense? Anxious? Tired? Hungry? Learn to read the signs and you’ll be able to help them better.
Once you’ve learned how to listen, it’s time to start giving your body what it needs. This can look different for everyone, so I’m going to give you a few general tips that should help get you started:
-Get physical! Exercise is one of the best ways to physically and emotionally support your body. Find an activity or type of exercise that makes you happy and do it regularly.
-Sleep! Getting enough sleep is crucial for overall health and well-being. Make sure you’re getting at least seven hours per night (eight if you’re over 60).
